Tom Beanie

Okay, I confess.  Just before the new year, I was on a major beanie craze, and I don't think I'm over it just yet. A few days before my family came over to celebrate Christmas , I couldn't resist casting on a new beanie for Tom (one of my niece's boyfriend).

Tom Beanie

This beanie is fashioned closely on the Xavier beanie but rather than add stripes in regular intervals, I decided to add two double rows of stripes in a lighter blue just after the 2x rib and then continue in the dark blue for three inches before the decrease which began again in the light blue.  So, the top of the beanie has two double rows of light blue stripes before the final section in dark blue.  Are you confused yet?  Sorry about that ... the photos below should help.

I love the way Tom's beanie looks on him, and from what he wore at our Christmas gathering, I guess I was right that he likes stripes.  Thanks, Nicole, for the great photos.

  9. Hehe. You've been having fun! The hat looks great. Hats seem to be one of those things that men love receiving though, so I am sure the hat was well appreciated. xx

  12. Beanies are certainly a must wear here today.
We had some snow. Not truly a good amount but the teen degrees and wind makes it winter.
