WIP: Westwood Blouse

It's about time that I cast on something new having only had the Oaklet Shawl and my Wonder Blanket on the needles for a while now. Many of you have been having startisis and are casting on incredible projects left and right.  I, on the other hand, have been heming and hawing about which pattern to cast on:  cardigan? pullover? socks? another shawl? It's been a strange couple of weeks as I'm never this indecisive.

Like any good knitter, I went through my library again, both on Ravelry and on my bookshelves.  Eureka!  I came across the Westwood Blouse in this summer's issue of Knitscene and knew it was THE ONE.

I'm using the Blue Moon Fiber Arts BFL Sport that I purchased for another project and am feeling a little guilty about that (should I?), but I want this top for the cooler weather to wear under a jacket perhaps (as Gail suggested to me) and the yardage is right.  Oh, and did I mention that I think this blouse will look beautiful in this color?

Alright, maybe I don't have to justify my decision to use this yarn so vehemently ... after all, it is my stash, right?  As you can see, I'm not very far along as there is a lot of stockinette stitch on US4 needles, but I can already tell that this will be a great project for relaxation knitting (and Netflix!).

  1. I hadn't seen that pattern before, it's lovely! Don't feel guilty, using what is in your stash is always good. Plus, it means you get to go yarn shopping for that other pattern when you decide to knit it!

You've decided on a great looking color, Evelyn. It's one I don't even have in my stash so am eager to watch it's progress.

  10. Oh size 4 needles. That sounds like it's going to take a while. I don't think I've ever knit a sweater on a pair of fours. There's got to be a first time for everything...

  11. I think it's about time you attempted another garment. And why feel guilty? You can always buy more yarn for that other project... says the little devil on your shoulder. ;-)
