Yarn Along 27

I'm joining in Ginny's Yarn Along this week.

I'm typically a very disciplined knitter.  I don't like to feel overwhelmed by my WIPs so I tend to keep what's on my needles to a minimum of three projects at any given time.  I can't fully explain what happened in the last week, but my projects have grown to five ... and counting!

I'm going to focus on only two WIPs today and will be knitting on my High Plains Drifter Shawl shown here knit in the gorgeous colorway Spice that is the September TFA Year in Color Club installment ....

and my BFF Cowl shown here knit in Cascade Eco Duo that I'm knitting with my dear friend Gail.

Both of these are being knitted as KALs over on the Project: Stash KAL Ravelry Group so come and join us!

I'm still reading Stone Arabia but with all the knitting that I have to do, the poor novel is mostly sitting quietly by my bedside table.

  1. I love the pattern on the BFF cowl. I know what you mean, I've got too many WIP right now and I'm trying to get at least one more finished soon before it drives me crazy!

  2. Hehehe - I was doing pretty well keeping my WIPs limited too, until I succumbed to your siren call!

  3. I am fully into the concept of having as many projects in knitting bags as possible :) I think there ought to be one for every possible place,,, even one knitting bag in the car, for traffic stalls, long lights, and such. One in the kitchen, the bathroom (you know, for the loo) and hey, maybe I ought to try knitting while soaking in the tub???) ... one knitting bag of course, by the phone. Dont' forget one at work ! Never Not Knitting is the idea... right? :)

  8. Great idea to just focus on a couple for a while, they are both utterly gorgeous. My needles sometimes explode like that too!

  9. aaaargh! You've hijacked my knitting!! Normally, I'm not fond of garter, nor do I feel compelled to start a project too quickly. But that shawl is lovely! I'm a great fan of Kirsten Hipsky.

  10. Yeah to 5!!!!! I say this only because I am selfish and want others to have many things on the needles. :)

  11. I wish I had a BFF that could knit like I do. Yours for Gail is coming out so wonderfully.
I like that High Plains Shawl. I liked how the designer used three colors. Will you just use one or more?

  12. I think trying to stick to 3 WIPs at a time is very disciplined indeed. I usually have at least 6 or 7 on the go! I think I need to pair down, slow down! I love how your BFF cowl is coming along. I need to find someone to knit with me! heehee!

  13. You are already so far along on your bff cowl! I need to get going on mine (if only the nearest LYS wasn't 30 minutes away). The shawl is going to be very pretty too!
