And then there's the UFO (aka unfinished object) lurking in the back corner of the closet or at the bottom of the project bag or stuffed under the couch cushions. Okay, hopefully not under the couch cushions, but I have a feeling you know what I'm talking about. So, here I was, at the start of fall knitting season feeling very proud of myself for having individual clear bags filled with yarn, needles, and pattern waiting for when I would finish one project to then cast on a new pattern.
And then I dug just a little deeper into my knitting basket and saw it ... my UFO from last October! It was my Bailey cardigan begun with some gorgeous Uncommon Thread Yarn that Mark brought back all the way from Loop London in summer 2013.
You can be sure that I whipped that project out of its bag, read through the pattern again, found where I had left off, and started knitting. And I have to say, with complete joy, that I have been enjoying my Bailey so, so much. This is all to say that I have been monogamously knitting on my cardigan and am almost finished. Yes, you see one fully completed sleeve and another one making its way to the elbow.
I guess you can say that I'm not suffering from second-sleeve syndrome.
I'm so glad you've found and fallen back in love with Bailey. Enjoy the knit. That yarn is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome shade! I can sympathize with your feelings about too many WIPs. My brain gets overwhelmed, like when my house is too cluttered, and I find I can't work on any one thing too efficiently. I may end up trolling pinterest or new patterns instead of using my knitting time to finish something up. Like right now, my Aidez takes more focus than I can give it, but I am putting off casting on something else because I know it's lurking in my basket.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing it finished!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect time to finish it up! You'll be wearing it any day now!
ReplyDeleteThe yarn for your Bailey looks gorgeous and rich. Go for it, because it looks lovely :-)
ReplyDeletebeautiful yarn! sometimes I wish I was more of a monogamous knitter, but I find if I alternate my projects throughout the week I feel less guilty ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful yarn and glad you made your way back to it...I have lots of projects on the go...but I tend to concentrate on one or two...it helps me going between them, as I get bored...so I switch it up...in circulation right now are a shawl and two pair of socks..
ReplyDeleteThe marbling/variegation of this color is pretty. Your post is nudging me about my UFO.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it your sleeves will be done and you'll have a gorgeous sweater! The color is splendid!!
ReplyDeletethey look awesome! I don't find I suffer from second sleeve syndrome either- I love knitting sleeves, it often means I'm really close to a whole finished sweater, so I tend to race right through them. :)
