Baby Love

With so many new babies on the way or having just been born, my mind has turned to the time in my life when I was becoming a new mother.  My first child is a son (now a young man!) and the master knitter in my life (aka Mom) busily knitted up several gorgeous sets of baby clothes for when he was born.  While those were truly lovely,I wanted to use today's post to blog about this
amazing knit that Mom made for my daughter who was born a few years later. I love the cathedral-window-like stitches and the switch back and forth between pink and white. And did I mention that Mom didn't use a pattern but conjured this beautiful motif and design up in her mind?

I treasure this sweater dress and hope that one day I can pass it down to my own grandchild.  In the meantime, I use it as inspiration for my own knitting and designing, knowing that somewhere in my genes, some creative ability is lurking.  I can hope, can't I?  Oh, and I'll post photos of the knits Mom made for my son another time.

You have plenty of creativity. You just haven't tapped into it yet.
