Thankful....

When I started blogging last spring, I hoped to contribute to the many creative and inspiring voices that I discovered over the course of the last couple of years.  I wanted to add my thoughts on knitting and fiber and share my mistakes and successes.

Somehow, blogging has made me a better knitter.  Maybe it's because I put high expectations on myself to share WIPS and FOs that show the better side of myself.  And maybe it's because your comments have encouraged me to keep pushing my skills and learn from my mistakes. In this short time, I've made the nicest friends all over the world and even though these friendships are only through our blogs (for now!), they are as genuine and meaningful to me as my friends who I see face-to-face.

One such friend gave me one of the nicest gifts I could have ever asked for (thank you!).  She awarded me with the Versatile Blogger award!  While we bloggers get a lot out of knowing that our thoughts and ideas are being read, it is especially sweet to have someone whose blog I love show me such affection by passing this award along to me.  So, I'm thankful to have a place to share my love of knitting and yarn and thankful to all the new friends I've made in the blogosphere.  Part of receiving this award is to share seven things about myself so here it goes:
1.  Like my WIPs, I always have a book in progress.
2.  I'd rather be knitting and reading ... outdoors.
3.  I love when summer turns into autumn.
4.  A perfect day would be spent with my husband and children.
5.  I'm a city girl (favorite cities include London, New York, and Montreal).
6.  I would never turn down a good cup of coffee.
7.  If I could develop another creative skill, it would be to dance!

To share this great feeling, I'd like to pass the Versatile Blogger award to a few of my favorite blogs (and now friends).  Enjoy!

My Sister's Knitter for the joy she finds in everything around her
Indigo Craft for the beautiful knitting that she creates and her love of place
Knitting in Beantown for her honest expression and the friendship that we've developed
Fridica for how she is always challenging herself
Fruity Fudge for her creativity
Kiwiyarns for her devotion to the craft of knitting and yarn

There are so many other blogs out there that I love and I'm thankful for all of them.

  1. Hey there!!!! Thanks for the nomination, I feel so proud! I wrote a blog post and started a new topic on Ravelry's Blog Hub for Versatile Blogger. Would you consider adding yours?

  2. You are an awesome knitter (don't know if it is because of blogging or not!).

  3. Much deserved award for your love. You are inspiring Evelyn. Everything that you said about the other bloggers and me, is ironically everything that you are! You are the type of person that makes people feel better just by knowing you.

  4. Thank you for the amazing accolade and for pointing out some great blogs to read too! :-)

I'm enjoying seeing all your beautiful projects. Your observations about blogging making you a better knitter resound with me too - if I hadn't started blogging, I wonder if I would have been as motivated to knit as much as I have!?

Long may you continue sharing your thoughts and projects with the world. xx

  5. Thank you so much for such a graceful acceptance :) I love your blog and am clearly not the only one to do so! By the way, is your Flowers in the Snow edged in pale pink, or is it my monitor? Those little squares are beautiful. I'd love to do one edged in green for Flowers in the Grass.
