Am I really up for this?

When Louise visited a couple of weekends ago, we chatted a fair amount about blogging. She blogs about cooking and food from the perspective of someone who is teaching herself the joys of eating well by cooking well.  I blog about knitting and yarn from the perspective of someone who is finding the joy of hand-made things by developing the best techniques and skills possible.

Our chats about blogging revolved around why we do it and how we do it.  Her goal is to write often while mine is to write regularly. Since I started my blog, I've discovered that I really like blogging -- the more I blog, the more I enjoy the process of knitting.  Sharing my WIPs and what I'm learning has been joyful, something I didn't quite expect when I started this blog in April. It's partly to do with liking to set myself little challenges and expectations.  It's mainly to do with you readers and fellow bloggers who offer me great advice, encouragement, and inspiration. I don't think of myself as a writer, and I know a lot of bloggers start blogs because they want to hone their writing skills.  For me, it's all about the knitting, the yarns, the designs (and, alright, the awesome tools, too).

I came across this blogging challenge and wondered to myself:  "Could I do this?  Am I really up for it?"  And then I asked my blogger friend, Erin, if she would like to try, too (I think she might).  So, I'm casting on and joining the hundreds of bloggers who are taking the challenge to blog everyday for the month of October. I also see this challenge as a six-month anniversary present for Project:StashAs I can start anytime, I won't worry about my mere three posts in the first week of October. Rather, this post begins my blogtoberfest!  Wish me luck ... and please cheer me on!

  1. Hey! Thanks for the inspiration to get my blog rolling again!!!! I think the daily posting will be great fun, as I have had so many things I want to share with any followers who visit my page.

Also, I need your criticism on my Dummy Clap. So want to rewind back to before I unraveled the dropped stitches. I may have to find a new pattern for this yarn. And the time to frog, re-cake and cast on again.... :P
