KAL: The Moguls Cowl

I've been enjoying my Autumnal cardigan KAL so much that I decided to jump in and join another KAL, this time with the Creative Knitting Magazine Fan Group on Ravelry.

Berocco Ultra Alpaca

From the Ravelry group
The Moguls Cowl pattern is being released in the January 2012 issue, and I love how it can be worn as both a traditional cowl (simply around the neck) or as a capelet/shoulder cozy.  Like my Autumnal Cardigan, I'm following the designer's yarn recommendation and picked up three skeins of Berocco Ultra Alpaca from my LYS over the weekend. I chose a deep aubergine color -- I considered a bright red, but I really love purple and I just couldn't turn this color away. Today is the cast-on date for the KAL, and I have my supplies ready (this pattern calls for five different needle sizes and amazingly, I have all five in my stash).

So, yes, if you've been following my blog and my recent posts, I have too many WIPs on my needles (cardigan, pot holders, and now this cowl), but I've got a few days coming up for the holiday break, and I can't imagine anything else I'd rather be doing than hanging out with my family and enjoying some knitting.  Oh, and if you haven't knit with ultra alpaca yet, you must. It's scrumptious!

  1. Three WIPs is not too many! I've seen Ravelers with 20 or more!

  2. From what I know about you;
    those WIPs won't be hanging 'round very long, Evelyn.
    Great that you'll be getting some knit time over the next several days.
