A Beanie for Mark

During our woods hike over the weekend, Mark donned the beanie that I knitted for him with the special yarn sent to me by Wei Siew late last year.

If you recall, during the holidays, I was kind of obsessed with beanies, knitting this one and this one and this one

But as Mark pointed out, I hadn't knit one for him so I dove into my stash, and I knew right away that this special yarn would be perfect for him.  I love that it's spun from New Zealand sheep and that it was chosen just for me by a very special friend!

He loved it instantly and repeatedly tells me how incredibly warm it is (not that we've had a particularly cold winter).  The pattern is my Xavier Beanie and it was nice to see how well it worked without stripes, too.  Hope you all get to enjoy a little nature this weekend!

Sorry, kids, but I couldn't resist posting this photo!

  13. If my homework load wasn't so heavy, I'd definitely go out and explore this weekend, it's still pretty nice here. But alas, school comes first. That is a very simple, yet amazing (and warm looking) beanie!
