Alpaca Love is a blend of wool and alpaca and it feels nice and smooth between my fingers. I love the look of this hat design and picked it for the warm up winter KAL happening over at luvinthemummyhood blog.

Yes, my other, more demanding WIPs are languishing in my knitting basket at the moment, but on doctor's orders, I'm allowed some vanilla knitting today.
*Looking at the color that I'm knitting with, I guess I should really call this chocolate knitting!
There is nothing wrong with a little break from the more intense stuff! Your vanilla knitting looks beautiful. I'm wondering about that yarn, is it soft?
ReplyDeleteThanks -- yes, this yarn is very soft and lovely to work with.
DeleteFunny - I've never heard this term! I call it "idiot knitting" or "social knitting", depending on if I'm by myself or with other people!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the new term, I didn't know that's what it is called. I always keep vanilla knitting close by for those few minutes of spare time I need to fill.
ReplyDeleteI love vanilla knitting. Today my vanilla knitting (i've got the same cold, no doubt) is a big pink baby blanket. So I guess it's strawberry knitting ♥
ReplyDeleteI love Alpaca Love! And I'm all for vanilla projects.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just need something on autopilot! I love that yarn, enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteah, I love vanilla knitting!! it's perfect when you just need to zone out and keep your hands busy. that yarn looks so soft!
ReplyDeleteHow about sorbet knitting, something to cleanse your palate between big projects?
ReplyDeleteI have to say, sometimes all you want to do is vanilla knitting, and it's the best!
ReplyDeleteOhhh...luv! Thanks for the mention as well :)
ReplyDeleteI have some alpaca love that I'm hoarding... we had it here very briefly for a year (I believe, an indent order). It does feel lovely doesn't it! That beanie is the perfect vanilla knitting project. Get well soon! xx
ReplyDeleteI dream of knitting with some Alpaca someday---and your pattern is going to look divine in that lovely chocolate brown. I had never heard the term "vanilla knitting" before now, but must admit it is a perfect term--and now I realized why I love my dishcloth challenge for the year, vanilla knits! Built in each month to my knitting!
ReplyDelete*smiles and feel better wishes*
(oh--love the mommyhood blog--thanks for sharing)
We all need some vanilla projects sitting around (especially during intense cabling projects).
ReplyDeleteHow does this wool/alpaca blend compare to our favorite Ultra Alpaca?
I love that term...vanilla knitting. Yup, it's so soothing and just makes a knitter happy, yeah?
