I did a lot of knitting this weekend, so much so that I got all my WIPs off the needles, soaked, and blocked! That isn't to say that I don't have new projects on my needles, but I'll save those for another post. I spent Friday night binding off my Wholehearted Shawl and the rest of the weekend working on my new baby cardigan design which I'll confess that I had to frog not once, but twice. I'm completely fine about that ... it's all part of the process, right?
But let's return to the Wholehearted Shawl. In case you forgot, I knit this in Madelinetosh Merino Light (also known in my stash as Heaven). The color is glazed pecan and it could not be more perfectly named. I think Madelinetosh has got to be one of my favorite yarns -- it is so smooth and knits up into a soft squishy fabric. Yup, I think this was the perfect yarn for this beautiful shawl. Oh, and mine was knit with one skein!
I got to use my new Red Lace US5 circular needles which are a joy to knit with. I won't lie -- my hands got a bit tired on occasion, but I know that the tiredness had more to do with the fingering weight of the yarn. I'm a worsted weight knitter so I keep my US7 needles and larger a lot busier than the smaller ones in my needle stash. Now that I've knit this shawl, I think I can get used to knitting finer projects.
This has been such a fun knit-along so thanks to everyone who joined in. Hmmm, I think I may just have to find another pattern and start another KAL!
