Revisiting the Xavier Beanie

Late last year, I designed a stripey hat that looks great on both girls and guys.  It was just around the winter holidays, so I shared it with you all here.  Since then, I've been working to revise my few patterns so that they have not only a common look but are also written out as clearly as possible for a knitter's comfort and enjoyment. (Thanks again, Gail).

I know that for some knitters, hot weather doesn't make one think of knitting hats, but I have to disagree.  Hat knitting is a perfect summer project:  it's portable, light-weight, and usually pretty quick.  And just think, you can easily knit up a few over the summer, and you've got holiday gifts all ready months ahead of time!

So, if at some point this summer, the mood strikes you to knit up a hat for someone on your holiday gift list, the Xavier Beanie is a free, one-skein project to try!  Happy crafty weekend, everyone.

  1. Oh wow, I remember when you first released this great design! You are quite the designer now. I'm seriously thinking about knitting one of these for my brother (once I'm done with the charity hats anyway).
