I am so excited to share my first Jump for Fall FO: The Westwood Blouse. I'm double dipping as this new FO also allows me to check off a goal on my Year of Project list.
Both Xavier and Miranda helped me out with this photo shoot while I was at work the other day. Xavier has a keen eye and he wanted to have some fun with Miranda while showing off my new fall top. I think they both did a great job!
I'm really happy with how this top came out: the color is a great addition to my fall wardrobe, the yarn is soft and yet not too drapey, and the style is simple with a touch of jazz. As I mentioned in a previous post, I struggled with the original stitch pattern of p3tog in the top panel of the blouse and improvised with some slip stitches instead. I still managed to maintain the lattice affect so I'm calling this FO a success!
I originally bought this Blue Moon Fiber Arts BFL sport weight for the Ravi Cardigan but lost motivation to cast on that pattern. It couldn't have been more perfect for this sweater and now I have a whole other skein (661 yards!) left in my stash, just enough for another sleeveless top or short-sleeve tee, don't you think?
Very sophisticated and hip!! Love the earthy color and subtle detailing! Looks like you really have the hang of this Evelyn!! : )
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely pattern! I am so glad it worked out for you.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! And a great color to boot!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very cute top and the colour is lovely on you! You definitely have enough left over for a shawl or another little top, I'd think!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful project, Evelyn! And it looks fantastic on her too! Maybe it should have a matching infinity scarf? Sorry, fall sets off a desire to knit infinity scarves in me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, well done on the finish :)
ReplyDeleteThat's perfect, your family is talented in so many ways. I love it when a yarn finally finds a purpose in a project.
ReplyDeleteThis yarn WANTED to be that top - it is gorgeous and looks so well made. Lovely top, model, and photos - a win/win/win for your entire family :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...and you daughter looks great in it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful rich color. It looks fantastic as an FO. Great job and boy you're tiny to fit that too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely. I love that you have a model/photography team, how awesome!
ReplyDeleteNice! Is Miranda the same size as you? Lucky her if so! This turned out beautifully :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I love the pattern and the colour! Your daughter is a beautiful model, and yes, your son has a great eye for photography! Congrats on your first Fall FO
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. I hope you get lots of wear out of it. I can see it worn to work with a nice cardigan over the top.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot tell that your improvised work was not part of the original...perfect in all ways!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! I love that your kids cooperate so well for a photo shoot! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey did do a great job as model and photographer. I love the color of your sleeves top. Bonus that there is enough left over for another. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat top, great model and great photographer! Are you sure your daughter will let you have it back?? ;) Congrats on your double dipping finish!
ReplyDelete*smiles*

ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Xavier is an excellent photographer, and Miranda is, as always, a beautiful model.
