A Wealth of Ideas

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post and made suggestions for set-in sleeve sweaters to knit.  I'm thinking about each of them and weighing my choices.  Julie suggested a great casual pullover called Thermal by Laura Chau which appeals to my need for more weekend-style knits.

Michelle of the collegeknitting blog suggested Livingstone and Girl Friday, both of which I would love to add to my winter wardrobe.

And Cecilia suggested the Central Park Hoodie which is completely adorable.

Thanks also to those of you who had great tips -- tutorials, hints, and books -- which I will surely refer to once I decide which pattern to cast on. If any of you would like to weigh in and vote for a pattern, I'm completely open to that.  Yeah, I need some help here!

  2. I have been in love with thermal for a long time and too afraid to attempt it. Please do it so I can learn from you :) plus it's gorgeous too!

  3. Yes, the Thermal! It's been on my list forever, tried a couple times but ended in a disaster... :)
I also really love the Central Park Hoodie, but I know I don't like to wear hooded shirts since they always scoot back...
Can't wait to see what you'll make and what color you'll pick (still from your stash?)! Good luck! ♥

  4. I vote for Thermal and Central Park Hoodie. Both would be versatile and I can see them both being worn a lot by you.

  5. Hmm. I hate to be a downer on Thermal, but a dear friend knitted it took her f.o.r.e.v.e.r due to the small gauge (fingering) and the pattern, which is longer to do than stocking stitch. I'd proceed with caution on that one. I could see you in this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bedford-2. Similar pattern, but larger needles and not so much complex patterning. However, it is raglan... ;-)

My vote is go for Central Park Hoodie. It's a goodie! (haha)

  8. Oh please knit the first one, it is really nice looking (I'm queuing it for sure), but so many people love the Central Park Hoodie too. I don't think that you can go wrong with any of these!
