Today I will only be able to make two stops: the first will be to Knitty City which I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never been to. I know, it's one of NYC's best yarn shops so I'm excited to finally make it there. From what I've read, I know I'm going to be enticed so I'll be sure to walk in (and out) with my budget in tact.

From there, I'll crawl on up to The Yarn Company and pick up a skein (or two) of their custom-dyed Madelinetosh. I have two skeins of their Midnight in Manhattan colorway and am contemplating adding to that stash to have enough for a cardigan.

Both of these fabulous yarns shops are on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where conveniently I'm meeting my friend for lunch. Aren't I clever?
Gah! I wish I were there too!
ReplyDeleteCustom madelinetosh? That is something I wouldn't be able to pass up. I hope you have had a great time looking at all of the yarn and meeting other knitters!
ReplyDeleteVery well organised, if you come back with the budget intact ... not sure if I will be impressed or disappointed! lol
ReplyDeleteHey I went to NYC today! I went to the King's County Fiber Festival in Washington Park in Brooklyn! It was a great day! I've been to Knitty City, after leaving last year's Vogue Knitting, I headed there...
ReplyDeleteOoh...I'm anticipating a yarn porn post!
ReplyDeleteDroool!! What an awesome way to spend a lunch hour!!! Envy x 1000. I wish so much I had been a knitter when I visited New York. Those shops look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! How much fun! I have wanted to do the NYC yarn crawl, there are the best knitting shops there. I hope you came away with lots of treasures and had a wonderful time with your friend!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I was at Knitty City for the crawl on Saturday, too - I wonder if we were in the shop at the same time? I just got to the Yarn Company today :).
