Mini Crawl

It's a beautiful sunny Autumn day in New York, and I can't think of a better way to spend it than to meet a friend for lunch and do a small portion of the NYC Yarn Crawl.  I wish I could do the entire yarn crawl which would take me from Brooklyn to the Upper East Side to the Upper West Side, but I'll have to aim for that next year.

Today I will only be able to make two stops:  the first will be to Knitty City which I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never been to.  I know, it's one of NYC's best yarn shops so I'm excited to finally make it there.  From what I've read, I know I'm going to be enticed so I'll be sure to walk in (and out) with my budget in tact.

From there, I'll crawl on up to The Yarn Company and pick up a skein (or two) of their custom-dyed Madelinetosh. I have two skeins of their Midnight in Manhattan colorway and am contemplating adding to that stash to have enough for a cardigan.

Both of these fabulous yarns shops are on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where conveniently I'm meeting my friend for lunch.  Aren't I clever?

  9. So funny! I was at Knitty City for the crawl on Saturday, too - I wonder if we were in the shop at the same time? I just got to the Yarn Company today :).
