FO: Autumn Light

There are some projects that seem to knit themselves and Autumn Light certainly was one of those. There were so many elements of this project that I loved: Berroco Ultra Alpaca is a joy to work with, the cable and seed stitch motif kept things interesting, and I wasn't tied to a pattern (the whole design flowed from my brain to my fingers).


The details are super simple ~ I used a standard raglan, top-down method of casting on for a size 32, and then incorporated a center panel of seed stitch flanked by two opposite facing cables.  The rest was knit in stockinette with 2x2 ribbing on the collar, bottom band, and sleeve cuffs.




The only part of the sweater that was customized for Miranda were the sleeves ~ she loves pulling her sleeves over her wrists and hands so I made sure to knit those extra long with a rib of 4 inches!


You know, I'm sort of sad that I'm finished knitting this pullover.  I'm having a strong urge to cast on another ...

    Awesome design Evelyn! So classic and Miranda is just beautiful in it. The neckline is special. I so hope you'll offer this design one day for purchase. It's got all the right details and that bulky weight that knits up so quickly. Great job!

    You are on a roll with the beautiful knits! Miranda looks amazing wearing this gorgeous sweater. I love the center panel with the cables and seed stitch. Works really well with the ultra alpaca.
