Yarn Love

Madelinetosh Merino Light

As you can probably tell from the name of my blog, I have a BIG stash of yarn.  Some yarns are more beloved than others but all will eventually find a project to become.

My LYS is having a very nice sale at the moment, and I debated about whether to pop in this week since I already have so many gorgeous cakes of yarn in my overflowing drawers.  Actually, the drawers are much better organized since I got my new toys -- oops, I meant tools!

Glazed Pecan

I justified my little 30-minute visit with these two reasons:  (1) everyone must support their LYS, right? and (2) my year of projects needs specific yarns that I just don't have in my stash (yet).

I'm about to embark on two weeks where I get to knit and read to my heart's content so I want to make sure I have the right yarns for the projects I've decided to work on.  One of the projects is the Abigail cardi which I'm itching to start.  I think this colorway is going to be stunning and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in the shop.  I did have a moment of indecisiveness when wondering if maybe I should knit something else with these cakes - maybe this instead? - but my wonderful friend Erin helped me through that moment and I'm back on track.

Who knows?  Maybe when I am settled and ready to pick up these luscious cakes of madelinetosh, I'll feel like a different pattern, but for now I'm just enjoying the beauty of this color and this yarn.

If you have another suggestion for these treasures, let me know.

Happy knitting!

  1. I love that colorway--so rich and warm looking. I am using my first Tosh yarn in a project and I am loving the colors of it too. Happy knitting--the cardi would be my choice, by the way.

  3. Tosh light is my favorite as well. There is something about the depth of colors in the skein. I must say Glazed Pecan is going to have to be added to my stash, because it is way too yum for words. I think it would make the most beautiful Abigail ever!

  4. I'm with everyone as a big Madtosh fan - although I have different colorways in my stash. The glazed pecan is very nice ... hum ... :)

  5. I picked up a skein each of Composition Book Gray, Ink, and Calligraphy in DK. I'm working on an entrelac shrug that I'm definitely going to call "Writer's Block."
