Last spring, after a wonderful visit to WEBS, I fell in love with the Shirred Shrug and promptly bought the pattern, yarn, and cast on. It was a quick and satisfying knit and when I posted about it on Project: Stash and on my Ravelry projects page, the designer contacted me with the most flattering request. She asked if she could include my photograph on her pattern page. Miranda and I were thrilled. Since then, I've followed Erika's work and last week saw that her daughter suffered a terrible house fire which has left her needing to re-build her life. Erika let her followers know that she would be selling her Wholehearted Shawl pattern to raise funds to help her daughter out. I jumped.
I've gifted this pattern to four dear friends, one of whom gifted it to another. Since then, both Andi and Jody have blogged about this pattern as a giveaway. Head on over and comment for the chance to win.
As you know, I'm knitting my stash down over the next couple of months and have decided to include this pattern in my challenge. But I would love to knit this shawl as a KAL with YOU so think about it and comment here to join. This can be a very relaxed KAL but the finish date should coincide with when the money raised from this pattern is over (May 31). To make the KAL even sweeter, I'll be doing a giveaway (details to follow) when all shawls are completed. Please join me! I'll be casting on this weekend.
